Nothing better than starting the day with an run (thanks for coming along, Truman). Jason brought me some gorgeous flowers and in keeping up with tradition, we met my parents at Chili's....it's the half way point between our 2 homes. Couldn't have asked for a better day! (the pic of Truman with my parents totally cracks me up....he used to always make this face, so funny!)
I finally remembered to take my camera today. Truman is so funny, when it is time to go, he gets very upset and we have to force him back into the stroller. So, today, we allowed him to walk home. I am not kidding, he walked almost the entire way (.5 mile). We started to get concerned that he would get blisters on his feet since he didn't have on "walking shoes" (I know, we're dorks), so Jason carried him the last block and a half!
One of our favorite things to do, rain or shine, is to walk to a park about a half mile away. Truman is now able to enjoy swinging and sliding and it is a nice break for Astro. This weekend, Jason was out of town and mom and dad came for the night. Mom was being her silly self and making Truman laugh!
This is so hilarious! Jason stays home with Truman on Fridays and was busy doing something in another part of the house (no worries, though, the house is so small that you can carry on a conversation with anyone at any 2 given places in the house). Jason heard Truman making a noise and realized that he was falling out of his beloved car. So, Jason grabbed the camera and captured this first picture. Well, before Jason knew it, the door of the car opened and...
Lately, Truman has discovered how soft and comfortable Astro can be. He enjoys sitting either on top of him or lounging on him and becomes quite frustrated when Astro moves away. Astro is tolerating Truman quite well thus far!
My mom captured these pics of Truman when he went for his first "over night away from me" at their house the last week of December. Doesn't look like he was missing me...
We were sure missing him. My life must have been so boring before Truman came along. I just walked around with a hole in my heart the entire day!
We flew to Pocola Oklahoma for Christmas this year and had a wonderful time with all of Jason's family. It seems my family has been shrinking over the last few years, so it was especially meaningful to me. I sure do wish I had captured a picture of all the people in Jason's generation. His cousin Amanda thought it may be the last time in a while that all of them would be together. I sure hope not.
Don't we all have a picture of our baby crying on their first birthday?
Wearing my new shirt from Uncle Clay and opening my new dump truck from Uncle Davdo
Well, we decided to have a very low key birthday party for Truman. It was just the 5 of us. We did the usual: presents and cake. Then Jason and I went out to dinner with friends while my mom and dad watched Truman. Now that's a birthday!
Our baby has a mullet. That's right, a mullet. Ben Pickle summed it up quite nicely when he commented in October (while staring at Truman's hair): "Business in the front, party in the back." I must disclose that this is Truman's bed-head mullet. I will have to take a pic of his "other people are around" hair-do. Nice little curls.
